Crossing the divide

After the heavy rain in February 2014 the cycle path became flooded; there is a technique, ‘quarter pedalling’, that should enable you to move forward and keep your feet dry. Here an expert reaches the deepest part of the path, at the cattle grid at the University end of the path.

Always make sure you take home the right shadow …

Cycling past Magdalen College at the end of the afternoon the shadow of a following cyclist is projected forward and disconcertingly appears to belong to the woman. Photo taken in February 2014 on colour slide film that ‘expired’ in the late 1990s.

Testament of Youth

Filming on location in Oxford, April 2014, actors Alicia Viklund and Joanna Scanlon (and an extra on a bike), wait for their cue for action. Edwardian Oxford like a dream a don on a bike completes the illusion.
